Have you ever got sucked into research? I do...all the time. I think it's a lifelong habit because in High School, I used to waste my time in English Class reading the dictionary. Yep. I'd go to look up a word and next thing I knew the hour was up and I'd been reading pages of the dictionary. I suppose the time wasn't truly wasted but it didn't help my grades any.
Yesterday I got online looking up information on blue roses. See, I found some in a catalog last year that I want to plant in the front yard here. So, since we've decided on a blue theme for the wedding, I wanted to know the cost of blue roses for my bouquet. It turns out the roses I want to plant aren't true roses and may actually be more of a lavender than blue. But then I found articles on the development of 'true' blue roses. By 'true' I mean that they are not dyed or painted but grow blue. The Japanese have maniuplated the genes of white roses with those of blue flowers such as the delphinium or statice. It's curious how some articles talk about how these flowers have the "potential" to produce blue roses. Others say they will be available sometime next year. Very interesting stuff and yeah, I spent the whole afternoon sucked into articles.
