I kept busy today. Updated the webpage, worked on the new Amtgard ezine, some PHP stuff, housework (yech), critiques, and took my furry buddy out back to enjoy some sunshine.
This morning I caught a show the Mountain Man had me record on ancient Greek Martial Arts. (An episode of Human Weapon) It predates my Amazon warrior novel setting. The whole time I watched it, I kept thinking how I could use this to make the close combat scenes more vivid. The gals are fighting Greeks for most of the battles. One thing I really found interesting is how these guys studied art reliefs, vases, etc. to figure out the moves. Apparently that's exactly how we know of the dress, weapons, etc. of the Amazons. I thought it was cool anyway. |
